Sustainability at Ports of Auckland
One of Ports of Auckland’s sustainability goals is to be emissions free by 2040, an ambitious goal requiring new and innovative ways to meet it.
As part of that work, they partnered with the University of Waikato to develop a prototype for a system to store electricity generated from solar that uses DC power.
Ports of Auckland is aiming to generate on-site electricity so their buildings are either energy self-sufficient or can reduce reliance on electricity from the grid, an innovation that would be particularly suitable for use in their smaller buildings.
Setting up an information hub in a 20ft container was the challenge. The container needed to be eye-catching, so a simple, bold design was conceived, which was also applied to a series of posters inside, featuring a variety of related topics
