Rare and Unusual Plants

Choosing the cover image from a selection of over 100 for Rare and Unusual Plants proved quite challenging.

Many of the plants looked quite normal, as most were chosen for their non-visual attributes, such as smell. There needed to be a high degree of aestheticism for the cover image, to reinforce the title and appeal to gardeners.

The type, in varying sizes, picks up on the image tones with the purple complementing the colours of the flower. This helps enhance the contrast and creates a visual balance with the type and image.
